Enjoy the Fina Cabin in Idyllwild for a special get away in the mountains.  Our cabin is located in Idyllwild, California - just west of Palm Springs, at 5200 feet in the San Jacinto Mountains.  It's easy to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind.  Idyllwild is only 127 miles east of Santa Monica and 109 miles north of San Diego.  The cabin is a perfect retreat for romance, the family or that special occasion for a small group.  Featuring a six person Jacuzzi - just outside on a huge deck that wraps 3/4 of the way around the cabin.  Located on South Circle Drive, it's only a short walk to Strawberry Creek and the Idyllwild Village.  You have to see the great mountain view and savor the peace and quiet of the forest.

The Fina Cabin can sleep up to 18 - it has four bedrooms.  The master bedroom suite has it's own bathroom and a king size bed.  The three other bedrooms all have queen size beds.  In the family room there's a fun trundle bunk bed and two double size Futon couch/beds.  There are three bathrooms - the master bath plus a second bathroom upstairs and another downstairs.

This spacious 2955 square foot two-story home is well insulated with two thermostatically controlled central heating units to keep you warm on a cold Winter night.  For those really hot Summer days there is a new central air conditioner.  Find four TV sets through out the cabin - all with cable.  There is a new 40" wide screen High Definition TV and home theater sound system in the remodeled family room.  There are also two 27" TVs, both with DVD & VHS - one is in the living room and one is in the master bedroom.  Keep up with the game on a 13" TV out in the garage - where you can play on the ping pong table.

Strawberry Creek

               living room
The Fina Cabin features a large living room furnished with a couch, cloth chair, leather swivel chair with an ottoman, three oak coffee tables, a game table with chairs, a deacon chair, a cool 6" reflector telescope, a DVD/VCR player and a 27" TV with cable.

Also find a skylight, ceiling fan and an efficient sealed wood burning fireplace. The couch has a hide a bed for sleeping two more people - that would make 18.

The upstairs hall pantry holds an assortment of games and puzzles for all ages.

               expanded front deck

Enjoy the six person Jacuzzi, it's relaxing in the Summer and very cozy on a cold/snowy Winter night.

In 2005 we expanded the front deck an additional 600 square feet.  We added a new surface, beautiful new redwood handrails with child safe spacing and two ramps for easy accessibility to the cabin.

A night time Jacuzzi is very inviting.

When you're sitting in the Jacuzzi at sunset, the mountain view is awesome.

The whole deck is now about 1200 sq. ft. - on it you'll also find two new deck lights, an apple tree, a propane barbeque, two wood picnic tables, three umbrellas, benches and a bunch of deck chairs.

See the cool red bird feeder just outside of the kitchen window.

In the summer a steady steam of hungry birds fly in to feed.

               kitchen & dinning room

The kitchen is well equipped with a stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, blender, microwave and dishwasher - as well as cupboards filled with more useful stuff like: dishes, glassware, cups, bowls, utensils, corning ware, appliances, pots and pans.
The dining room has a gorgeous solid oak dining table with cushioned oak chairs. It can sit 10-12, just find the extra leaf inside the table.

Setup a buffet or have a snack at the convenient breakfast bar.

remodeled family room

In 2006 we expanded the downstairs family room from 155 to 720 square feet.  Now there's a natural edged cedar wet bar with oak cabinets, refrigerator, microwave, 40" wide screen HDTV with DVD and 5.1 home theater sound system.

There's still a cool spiral staircase.

Our video library is located in the family room.

Movies include an assortment of about 225 DVDs for both kids and adults.

There is a great "100 Classic Westerns" DVD set - yes, John Wayne at his best.

The family room is also furnished with two Futon couch/beds (with the good mattresses), a trundle bunk bed (a double, one on top and one on a rollout). There's also a rocking chair, an electronic keyboard, a book library and a poker/game/bumper pool table with plenty of pro-quality poker chips.  Then there's that big rock - we're not quite sure what to do with that, so we put spotlights on it.

Find two cozy queen bedrooms downstairs.

There's a huge yard for kids to play.  The green meadow behind the cabin shows where to find the seasonal stream.  It's great to explore and changes throughout the year. In the spring there is a running stream right on the edge of the property.

Be on the look out for squirrels with the biggest tails you have ever seen - as well as an apple tree, a new maple tree, roses, wild strawberries, oak trees, rocks, weeds, birds and lots of really big pine trees.

There's plenty of parking on or around the property.  That's in addition to the two car garage - where you can play on the Ping-Pong Table or run a load in the Washer and Dryer.

Idyllwild Mountains

Hiking - There are over 275 miles of hiking trails throughout the San Jacinto Mountain range.  Trails range from easy to very strenuous.  Once you hike up there, you will see awesome views of Idyllwild and the San Jacinto mountains.  On South Circle Idyllwild's Humber Park has easy hiking trails within and all around the perimeter of the park.  Trail maps can be found in the Idyllwild Rangers Station at 54270 Pine Crest.  For more details and descriptions of the trails, visit the Chamber of Commerce website at www.idyllwildchamber.com/to_do_hiking.html

Mountain Biking - With over 40 miles of mountain bike trails and 200 miles of dirt roads traversing the San Jacinto Mountain range - this is a mountain biking paradise.  For the less adventurous bikers, the streets of Idyllwild can offer a great biking experience.  For a real mountain workout that will get your heart pumping - ride down South Circle to Village Center, then over to North Circle and up, and up, and up to South Circle. Now you will find yourself climbing up the steepest part of the ride. Once you hit the top of the hill hang on to your brakes for a high speed descent.  Be careful you don't ride by the cabin - reports say you may end up in Hemet.  For a change in scenery try going counter clockwise instead of clockwise.

Mountain Climbing - Lilly Rock for world-class mountain climbing. You better know what you are doing and have all the necessary equipment - like a parachute.
